    Hello

    Late Orientation Camp 2014

Living in Germany is not easy. Especially when everyone speaks a completely different language from what you know and understand. Adaption differs from individuals, and I am slowly adjusting and adapting here. Nevertheless, it is always a comfort when you find people who feel the same and understand how you have felt for the past one month in Germany may it be good or bad. So this post is for my crazy Malaysian friends I reunited with at the Late Orientation Camp in Naumburg, Saale one week ago.

I met up with Nut (her short nickname because she has a super long name) from Thailand at the train station heading to Naumburg. It was a relief because I thought I would have to travel alone all the way. Not that it would be bad but a companion is sometimes better.

The camp was to allow us to be more orientated and well informed about the host country, do's and dont's and what not. It was a 3 days 2 nights camp. We met with other AFS-ers who also came to Germany. Most of them were familiar faces from the airport. :)

This is the hall we spent most of our time at.

Oh hey my crazy friend :)

On the first night we played a game. We had to write a charcater for the person on our right. The person would then have to stick that piece of paper on his/her own head and then take turns in asking questions in guessing their own identity. You could keep asking as long as the others answered 'Yes' to your question. Once the asnwer is a 'NO' it is the next person's turn to ask a question.

This was taken on the night of the talent show. There was a piano in the hall so we just chilled and sang songs on the piano. It was really nice, I missed how great playing the piano felt.
On the last night we stayed up untill 5.30, none of us wanting to go to sleep because we knew if we slept. it would soon be time for us to part different ways. In the picture there are my Malaysian friends, but Rina is from Japan. You can't see her face but she is the one in the blue jacket written JPN on my left.

Camp was amazing I cannot wait for the camp in June :)

    Frankfurt 2014

I went to Frankfurt the other day along with my classmates. It took us approximately 5-6 hours to get there. A quarter of the ride there was boring but when we started doing the usual thing girls do like taking selfies, things got much more fun and suddenly time passed by super fast.

We had to walk to our destination and for the whole trip we were walking here and there and everywhere. Frankfurt is beautiful but I think I still Love Dresden :)

Went shopping at Primark! I would strongly agree on how much I hate shopping instincts because I regret half of the things I bought.

Punk people chilling on the streets outside Primark. No wait not just outside Primark, everywhere.

Shopping made us hungry. My friends went to grab some crepes and I went for Macdonalds instead. The menu is slightly different and slightly more expensive too. Nevertheless, I was dying of hunger.

After dinner we headed back to the meetup point with our classmates and teacher. We saw Mr Penis on the way. It is a common thing in Germany where they do this on the day before they get married. We paid 1 euro each to take a photo with him. Expensive but I thought it was worth it.

We also had the opportunity to visit the Frankfurt Theater and also watch a play by some young people. I have watched a lot of theaters and that was not one of the best.

We only stayed a night in Frankfurt, and so this we had to pack and leave at 9 in the morning (or so).

We got to tour the theater again. We got to see the insides and how the make up was done. It was pretty fascinating altogether.

I didnt really take much pictures in there because I was partly too engrossed in looking around and trying to figure out what the explanations were about.
The weather was perfect so we went to Frankfurt Main Tower.

They have security check before we head up to the observation platform. hmmm.

After heading down from the tower, we walked back to the train station to leave for Dresden once again. We managed to stop by a little shop selling ice cream. Cheapo me went for Smarties Ice cream instead of Gelatio. But these were really good. You had to push the ice cream using the plastic stick below and when you finished you could have all of the smarties in the plastc thing. There were huge chunks of smarties in the ice cream too.

    Shoe-fiving with my classmate :D

Frankfurt was amazing but I would not want to be there because it is too crowded for me. Idk. Personal opinion. :) I will be going to Ostsee for the Easter holidays. Will keep you guys posted!

    Signing off, Nicole.
