Late Orientation Camp 2014
Living in Germany is not easy. Especially when everyone speaks a completely different language from what you know and understand. Adaption differs from individuals, and I am slowly adjusting and adapting here. Nevertheless, it is always a comfort when you find people who feel the same and understand how you have felt for the past one month in Germany may it be good or bad. So this post is for my crazy Malaysian friends I reunited with at the Late Orientation Camp in Naumburg, Saale one week ago.
I met up with Nut (her short nickname because she has a super long name) from Thailand at the train station heading to Naumburg. It was a relief because I thought I would have to travel alone all the way. Not that it would be bad but a companion is sometimes better.
The camp was to allow us to be more orientated and well informed about the host country, do's and dont's and what not. It was a 3 days 2 nights camp. We met with other AFS-ers who also came to Germany. Most of them were familiar faces from the airport. :)
This is the hall we spent most of our time at.
Oh hey my crazy friend :)
On the first night we played a game. We had to write a charcater for the person on our right. The person would then have to stick that piece of paper on his/her own head and then take turns in asking questions in guessing their own identity. You could keep asking as long as the others answered 'Yes' to your question. Once the asnwer is a 'NO' it is the next person's turn to ask a question.
This was taken on the night of the talent show. There was a piano in the hall so we just chilled and sang songs on the piano. It was really nice, I missed how great playing the piano felt.
On the last night we stayed up untill 5.30, none of us wanting to go to sleep because we knew if we slept. it would soon be time for us to part different ways. In the picture there are my Malaysian friends, but Rina is from Japan. You can't see her face but she is the one in the blue jacket written JPN on my left.
